Micromax Canvas HD sale crosses 9000 units within 24 hours

The Micromax Canvas HD went on sale yesterday and as we also pointed out in our hands-on of the device, it is amongst the most anticipated smartphones in the country. Micromax has now revealed that the first lot of the device was sold out within 15 minutes as the device went on sale online.Further, the second lot of 300 phones was also sold out in the morning at 9AM with in 15 minutes. The third lot, which was much larger at 1200 started at 12 in the noon and was also sold out with-in 45 minutes.

Overall, Micromax says that it has sold 9000 units of the device in less than 24 hours and currently it is selling 25 units per minute. All this has happened only online, as the device is yet to go up for sale with retailers.

For those who don’t know, the Canvas HD marries solid build quality, a quad-core processor, and a 720p display in a frugal package that costs Rs 13,990.
