Nokia Lumia 920 gets a price cut, now available for Rs. 32,629

Soon after the global launch of the Nokia Lumia 925, Nokia has now slashed the price of its current flagship device in the market, the Nokia Lumia 920 (Review | Pictures). The device that was priced at Rs 38,199 when launched in January, can now be purchased for Rs 32,639 on the Nokia Shop online. Powered by a 1.5GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, the phone also comes bundled with a free wireless charger worth Rs. 3,999. The Windows Phone 8 device has received rave reviews in the past, specifically for the camera and particularly its low-light performance. Though a bit on the bulkier side, the phone promises great performance and delivers it with ease. The price cut was preceded by the newly announced Nokia Lumia 925 being listed on the Nokia India website with the availability marked as 'Coming Soon'. The Lumia 925, which is a refined take on Lumia 920, features a metal frame instead of the polycarbonate bodies of the erstwhile Lumia devices. It boasts an 8.7-megapi...

Nokia Lumia 920 review

N okia unveiled the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 way back in September last year and it took quite a while for the phones to find their way on to Indian shores. Continuing the theme, here's our slightly belated review of the Nokia Lumia 920. Hardware/ Design The first thing you notice about the Nokia Lumia 920, no doubt, is the bulk. The device may not be as large as the Galaxy Note II, but somehow Nokia has managed to make it heavier than Samsung's phablet. Once you get past the weight, however, there's plenty to like. The Nokia Lumia 920 is solidly built out of a polycarbonate unibody shell that goes all around the device and offers a welcome change if you've been living in the Samsung world of plastic for too long. The left side of the phone is completely bare, giving way to the Micro-SIM slot on the top left. The 3.5mm headphone/mic jack is at the centre of the top edge, adjacent to a noise-cancelling microphone. The right edge has the volume rocker, powe...

Nokia Lumia 920 shows problems with heavy file transfers

Everything is not very nice for the Windows 8 operating system powered Nokia Lumia 920. This latestphone from Nokia is reporting a problem- related to transferring large files from the phone. According to a news report in PocketNow, HD recording from the Nokia PureView camera is good. There is no problem even when recording long events from the camera. The problem comes when one wants to get the heavy file transferred from the phone to a computer. “This sounds like some kind of 32-bit addressing issue, because just over the 4GB mark, things start to get wonky.    Attempts to transfer videos larger than 4GB to a PC end up with the phone only actually sending whatever’s over that 4GB point to the computer. So, instead of a 6GB video, you end up with a corrupted, unwatchable 2GB file”, reports PocketNow. Windows 8 was launched in October end this year and Nokia announced its first phone with the new operating system- the Nokia 920 much before the launch of Windows 8. Many us...
