Sony C650X ‘Odin’ which is expected to pack in similar specs as that of Yuga released as the “Sony Xperia X”

Last week, we heard that Sony’s much rumored and leaked, Sony Yuga could officially launch as the Sony Xperia Z.

And today we hear that the Sony C650X ‘Odin’ which is expected to pack in similar specs as that of the Yuga will be released as the Sony Xperia X.

It is being rumored that the Sony Xperia X will be the international variant of the Xperia Z and the latter is said to be region specific. Also, the Odin will arrive with a different design in comparison to the Xperia Z and it is as follows:

Odin is thicker and heavier than Yuga (Xperia Z).
The back of the handset will have a textured (or even striped pattern) similar to the Sony Xperia Edual.
A small cover on the back of the handset will allow you to hot swap the microSDmemory card and SIM card.
The front-facing camera will be placed at the bottom-right of the handset (Weird and we doubt that).

We expect Sony to unveil the 5-inch full-HD smartphones at the upcoming CES 2013 which is scheduled during the second week of January.

Transparent smartphones coming in 2013: Polytron

Think transparent smartphones are futuristic? Not really. For, if Taiwan-based Polytron has its way, we will soon be holding a transparent smartphone. Polytron, which works on display technologies, has unveiled a smartphone prototype with a transparent body. A company exec has also claimed that users will see the arrival of transparent glass phone by the end of this year. The company's prototype is manufactured using glass that is light in weight and features a transparent screen and body. The prototype was not functioning and hardware like battery, camera and microSD card could be seen by the naked eye. Samsung Galaxy S II Plus surfaces online for Rs. 22,900

Samsung seems to gearing up to launch Samsung Galaxy S II Plus in India. The smartphone is already listed on Infibeam.com for Rs. 22,900. The website is also claiming to ship the device within seven business days. Samsung Galaxy S II Plus sports a 4.3-inch WVGA (480x800) Super AMOLED Plus display as seen in the earlier Galaxy S II. Looks wise, the exterior of the device has been replaced with the plasticky back panel as seen on the Galaxy S III.
