With the launch of BlackBerry 10 just a month away, we have already seen the images of the firstsmartphone, which is reported to be called Z10. BBin is reporting that the Z10 will have a TI OMAP 4470 dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a 4.2-inch display with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels, 2GB of RAM, 16GB and 32GB memory options, a 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 1,800 mAh battery.
Notably, the US variant of the device is expected to dump the Texas Instruments chipset in favor of the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip to get LTE conectivity. It will be the same one as the one we are seeing in the current crop of Windows Phone 8 smartphones like the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC Windows Phone 8X. Other frills expected in the Z10 include, NFC, micro-HDMI connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, micro-USB and Bluetooth 4.0.
RIM will unveil BlackBerry 10 along with the new smartphone at a global launch event on January 30.
