Aircel partners with Magicon – launches three m1, m2 & mNote 3G Android smartphones

Aircel has today announced that the telecom operator has tied-up with mobile phone company Magicon to offer anew range of smartphones in India, targeted specifically at the youth.

Magicon has launched three new smartphones - Magicon m1, m2 and the mNote for prospective users whicharrive with some decent specs.

The Magicon m1 and m2 arrive with a 3.5-inch WVGA display, run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and are powered by a powerful 1 GHz processor. Both carry a 5 MP camera at the rear wherein the m1 also arrives with Flash and front facing camera too.

The Magicon m2 arrive with 3G connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot capability whereas the m1 is a 2G phone with EDGE connectivity only. Magicon m1 is priced at Rs 4,499 and m2 is priced at Rs 4,999 only.

The third smartphone in the range is the Magicon mNote which arrives with a 5-inch WVGA display, is powered by a 1 GHz processor, packs in an 8 MP rear facing shooter with Auto-Focus and Flash. The mNote runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The mNote arrives with 3G connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
The mNote is powered by a 2000 mAh battery and is priced at Rs.9999 for prospective users. As an inaugural offer, a leather cover worth Rs 999 is being offered absolutely free along with it.
All the three models are dual SIM, dual standby phones with G-sensor, proximity sensor, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. They also arrive with bundled 4 GB memory card and Aircel is offering 250 minutes of talk time, 250 SMS and 1 GB data for 3 months with these three smart phones.

The Magicon m1, m2 and mNote arrive with a warranty cover of 18 months – which is 6 months more than the industry standard of one year and will be available across 170 Aircel stores around the country and other leading store.

Idea launches ID 920, Aurus III smartphones

Idea has launched two new 3G-enabled smartphones, Idea ID 920 and Idea Aurus III for Rs. 4,950 and Rs. 6,990 respectively. The Idea ID 920 is an entry-level dual-SIM Android 3G Smartphone, targeted at first time data users in semi-urban markets. It's powered by a 1GHz processor, has 256MB RAM and sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touch display that has a resolution of 320x480 pixels. The phone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is an old version of the OS.  It features a 2-megapixel rear camera and offers internal storage capacity of 512MB expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. A 2GB memory card is bundled with it. The phone comes with a 1400mAh battery. On the other hand, the Idea Aurus III runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and features a 4-inch TFT screen that has a resolution of 480x800 pixels.
