Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Coming With Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean in 2013

Back in 2011, Samsung released Galaxy S2 – its flagship smartphone and the best selling handset of the year. Now, there are rumors circulating on the web claiming that a mid-range variant of Galaxy S2 will be released soon.

According to a recent SamMobile report, the South Korean tech giant is all set to unveil Galaxy S2 Plus in the first quarter of 2013 in a couple of color variants – Dark Blue and Chic White. Further, the report states that the upcoming handset will be available only in 8GB internal storage option and run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS along with Nature NX interface.

Also, the report claims that its tipsters suggest that the Chic White Galaxy S2 Plus will be released in the third week of the next year and the Dark Blue variant of the same will be released a couple of weeks later.

Hope this delay is not similar to what happened to Galaxy S3 – the current flagship smartphone with the Pebble Blue casing.

Moreover, the report also discloses that the handset will fall in between Galaxy S3 Mini and Galaxy Premier, and claims that the unveiling of Galaxy S2 Plus was delayed due to these newsmartphones.

In August, a report from the same source hinted that Samsung is prepping two handsets – Galaxy S3 Mini and Galaxy S2 Plus that will hit the global market in late 2012. However, at that point of time, these were only rumors and there was no proof for their existence.

Anyways, the Galaxy S3 Mini has been unveiled and its is available on pre-order in India for a price of Rs 26,999.

However, there are no specifications of Galaxy S2 Plus and the official confirmation of the same by Samsung is awaited.

Talking about the specs of original Galaxy S2, the handset comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 1.2GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB/32GB internal memory along with a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB.

The handset has an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and 1650 mAh Li-ion battery. Moreover, Galaxy S2 is flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, which is upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

  1. I recently review a Galaxy user’s experience about this; they said “when I connect galaxy s2 with T.V via ordinary cable my galaxy batteries dead after that”. So I warn those users who try with some wrong cable. Just ask your vendor related to your purpose. copy galaxy S2 contacts to S3
