Adblock plus now available for Android devices

Get rid of annoying advertisements to an extent with this neat little utility which has been a popular extension for web browsers till now.

Popular advertisement blocking utility, Adblock Plus which till now has been a great success for web browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Opera has now been launched for the Android as well. This application brings along same functionality as it did for the browsers.

Adblock Plus allows users to block annoying advertisements form web pages on the browsers and from applications that are compatible with this app.



Although, there have been many advertisement blocking utilities on Android but the Adblock Plus is the only application that allows users to tackle advertisements without having to root the device. However, rooted devices get more options and control over advertisement control than non-rooted devices.

Users without the rooted device and running Android version 3.0 and previous will have to manually configure the application for blocking advertisements. The configuration is a single step process and users would not have to repeat the process again and again. Devices with newer Android versions need not to configure but the app might still ask for a few things to tackle advertisements better.
