Sony Xperia Z smartphone launched in India

Sony Mobiles today announced the launch of its latest, Sony Xperia Z smartphone in theIndian subcontinent which packs in a full-HD 5-inch display with OptiContrast Technology.


The Sony Xperia Z is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor coupled with2 GB RAM and smartphone arrives with capability to expand it up to 64 GB.

The Sony Xperia Z arrives with Ingress Protection (IP) rating of IP55 and IP57 which makes the smartphone dust and water resistant. The smartphone has a 13 MP AutoFocus camera with LED Flash on the back of the Xperia Z with Exmor RS sensor and a 2 MP front facing camerafor video chats.

The Sony Xperia Z has been priced at Rs.38,990 which seems to be a good price going by the fact that the HTC Butterfly was launched for about Rs.46,000. Vodafone customers will get 8GB of data for 2 months bundled with the Xperia Z.

Transparent smartphones coming in 2013: Polytron

Think transparent smartphones are futuristic? Not really. For, if Taiwan-based Polytron has its way, we will soon be holding a transparent smartphone. Polytron, which works on display technologies, has unveiled a smartphone prototype with a transparent body. A company exec has also claimed that users will see the arrival of transparent glass phone by the end of this year.  The company's prototype is manufactured using glass that is light in weight and features a transparent screen and body. Samsung Galaxy S II Plus surfaces online for Rs. 22,900

Samsung seems to gearing up to launch Samsung Galaxy S II Plus in India. The smartphone is already listed on Infibeam.com for Rs. 22,900. The website is also claiming to ship the device within seven business days. Samsung Galaxy S II Plus sports a 4.3-inch WVGA (480x800) Super AMOLED Plus display as seen in the earlier Galaxy S II.
