Intex Aqua SX and Aqua Star spotted online for Rs. 4,490 and Rs. 3,990 respectively

The Indian handset makers seem to be on a frenzy to launch smartphones. Intex Mobiles too does not want to be left out and has quietly listed two of its forthcoming smartphones Intex Aqua SX and Aqua Star on its website.

Intex Aqua SX comes with 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 320x480 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1GHz MediaTek MTK6515 processor along with 256Mb of RAM. The smartphone comes with 128MB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card. This is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs on Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). Priced at Rs. 4,490, Intex Aqua SX comes with 5-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front camera.

There is a 1450mAh battery on-board, that as per the company will give 5 hours of talktime and 360 hours of standby time. Connectivity options include EDGE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This smartphone will also come pre-loaded with Intex Zone.

Intex Aqua Star too is a dual-SIM smartphone. It comes with a 4.0-inch display and 1GHz processor. For camera, there is 3-megapixel rear shooter and 1.3-megapixel one in the front. Intex Aqua Star too runs on Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) and will retail for Rs. 3,990. Other details in regards to Intex Aqua are a bit sketchy as of now.

There is no word in regards to availability of smartphones Intex Aqua SX and Aqua Star. However, given that the financial year is coming to an end, and most companies have to meet targets on a yearly basis, we expect that both these smartphone will be launched before March 31.

Recently Karbonn too had launched A3 and A4 Android Gingerbread smartphones under Rs. 5,000 in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 4,990, Karbonn A4 is a dual-SIM smartphone that packs in 1GHz processor and 4.0-inch capacitive touchscreen. The other features of this smartphone are 3.2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera and 1,400mAh battery.

Karbonn A3 on the other hand is available for Rs. 3,600. It comes with 1GHz processor with 256MB of RAM. The smartphone sports a 3.5-inch screen with HVGA display. It also has a 3-megapixel rear camera and VGA camera on the front.

Lava Mobiles too has recently launched three entry-level smartphones IRIS 349, IRIS 351 and IRIS 355. All three run on Android Gingerbread, sport 1GHz processor and 3.5-inch screen. Lava IRIS 349 is available for Rs. 3,999, while IRIS 351 is Rs. 5,999 and IRIS 355 is retailing for Rs. 4,999.
