iBall Andi 3.5 dual-SIM Android phone launched for Rs. 4,499

iBall has added yet another smartphone to its popular Andi series in the form of the Andi 3.5, which is an entry level device priced at Rs. 4,499.

The Andi 3.5 comes with the rather dated Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS featuring 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touch display. It comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a front camera for video chats as well.

Internally, the device is powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A9 Processor. Though RAM and storage details are unknown, the device supports supports external expansion upto 32GB via microSD.

The Andi 3.5 has a dual-SIM dual stand-by facility, allowing swift transition from one network to another. It also has EDGE Support and GPRS Dual Band and Wi-Fi enabled and equipped with the A2DP Bluetooth. 

It comes with a 1,500mAh battery and will be available in White and Special Wine colour variants.

The company recently launched the Andi 4.5q smartphone at a best buy price of Rs. 11,490 and theAndi 4.5H for Rs. 12,490. The Andi 4.5q sports a 4.5-inch qHD display (960×540 and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. other features include an 8-megapixel autofocus rear a front camera, a 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor with 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a a 2,050mAh battery.

The Andi 4.5H, on the other hand comes with a qHD display, a dual-core 1GHz cortex A9 processor, 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage (expandable by another 32GB). Also included is an 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a front camera for video calls. The connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G.

Other offerings in the Andi series include the Andi 4.3j, a dual-battery Android smartphone for Rs. 9,499 in October 2012 and the 5-inch Andi 5c for Rs. 12,999 in August 2012. iBall also introduced the dual-SIM Andi 3e and Andi 4d for Rs. 6,990 and Rs. 6,990 in June and the Andi 2 for Rs. 9,999 in March last year.

Transparent smartphones coming in 2013: Polytron

Think transparent smartphones are futuristic? Not really. For, if Taiwan-based Polytron has its way, we will soon be holding a transparent smartphone. Polytron, which works on display technologies, has unveiled a smartphone prototype with a transparent body. A company exec has also claimed that users will see the arrival of transparent glass phone by the end of this year.  The company's prototype is manufactured using glass that is light in weight and features a transparent screen and body. Samsung Galaxy S II Plus surfaces online for Rs. 22,900

Samsung seems to gearing up to launch Samsung Galaxy S II Plus in India. The smartphone is already listed on Infibeam.com for Rs. 22,900. The website is also claiming to ship the device within seven business days. Samsung Galaxy S II Plus sports a 4.3-inch WVGA (480x800) Super AMOLED Plus display as seen in the earlier Galaxy S II.
