Samsung Galaxy S II Plus surfaces online for Rs. 22,900

Samsung seems to gearing up to launch Samsung Galaxy S II Plus in India. The smartphone is already listed on Infibeam.com for Rs. 22,900. The website is also claiming to ship the device within seven business days. Samsung Galaxy S II Plus sports a 4.3-inch WVGA (480x800) Super AMOLED Plus display as seen in the earlier Galaxy S II. Looks wise, the exterior of the device has been replaced with the plasticky back panel as seen on the Galaxy S III. Samsung Galaxy S II Plus runs Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box along with layer of Nature UX atop. The device features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and capable of full-HD video recording. There's a 2-megapixel front camera as well. On the inside, the smartphone is powered by a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a Broadcomm GPU and has 1GB of RAM. Samsung Galaxy Note III to come with 5.9-inch screen: Report

Samsung Galaxy Note II successor has been making quite a buzz recently. It was being speculated that Samsung Galaxy Note III may come with a 5.9-inch screen. Now, GSMArena via Korea Times is reporting that this is indeed confirmed news. Korea Times mentions that they have picked this information up from Samsung's main parts suppliers. Furthermore, the report also states that the Samsung Galaxy Note III will be launched in US through telecom operator AT&T in the near future. As per earlier rumours, Samsung Galaxy Note III will be launched at IFA 2013. IFA 2013 will be organised between 6 to 11 September in Berlin (Germany). Motorola X Phone surfaces again in purported online render

A nother render of a new Motorola Android smartphone, supposedly the Motorola X phone has surfaced online. Mobile phones focused website, GSM Arena, claims to have received the render with a short description of the specifications, from a person close to the team working on the X Phone. However, there is no way to verify the sender's claim and identity, and whether the image is fake or genuine.  The render shows a Motorola phone that looks very futuristic, featuring what appears to be a curved screen with no bezel, and a thin frame, with a camera lens and sensors towards the top, just fitting in. The UI appears to be stock Android but there are some new widgets for time, weather and battery status. According to the tipster, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset and will sport a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 768x1280 pixels. S ony's entry-level smartphones, Xperia E and Xperia E dual, are now available for purchase online. The phones were listed online across e-commerce websites for pre-orders including on Infibeam and Flipkart. In line with the pre-order price, the Xperia E has been listed on Infibeam at a price point of Rs. 9,999 and is available in Black, Pink and White colours, while the Xperia Z Dual has been listed at Rs. 10,990 and is available in Black and Champagne colours. The company is also offering a pair of Sony Headphones (MDR-ZX100A) worth Rs. 1,490, with both the phones. Lava Mobiles has launched three new entry-level smartphones under its IRIS series - IRIS 349, IRIS 351 and IRIS 355. All of these smartphones sport a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and run on the dated Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) operating system. Another thing in common between these smartphones is that they are all dual-SIM smartphones. Lava IRIS 349 comes with a 1GHz processor along with 256 MB of RAM. Xolo is all set to launch another smartphone in the Indian market - Xolo B700. Xolo B700 is listed on flipkart.com for Rs. 8,999 and as per the website will be delivered within 7-8 working days. This smartphone features 4.3-inch screen with a qHD display. The smartphone is powered by a mammoth 3450mAh battery, which as per the company claims gives 23 hours of talktime and 380 hours of standby time on 2G and 20 hours of tallktime and 363 hours of standby time on 3G. Intex Aqua SX and Aqua Star spotted online for Rs. 4,490 and Rs. 3,990 respectively

The Indian handset makers seem to be on a frenzy to launch smartphones. Intex Mobiles too does not want to be left out and has quietly listed two of its forthcoming smartphones Intex Aqua SX and Aqua Star on its website. Intex Aqua SX comes with 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 320x480 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1GHz MediaTek MTK6515 processor along with 256Mb of RAM. The smartphone comes with 128MB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card. This is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs on Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). Samsung to introduce Galaxy Pocket Neo by May: Report

Samsung is gearing up to launch another affordable Galaxy smartphone - Galaxy Pocket Neo. As per news report in SamMobile, this smartphone will be an entry-level Android smartphone much like the Samsung Galaxy Fame and Galaxy Young. The website also claims that this smartphone will come in two variants, a single SIM version, which will bear the model number GT-S5310 and the DUOS variant, which will be model number GT-S5312. Furthermore, SamMobile states that Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo will have a 3.0-inch screen with QVGA resolution. The expected dimensions of this smartphone are 104.95 X 57.8 X11.8mm. The other alleged specifications for the smartphone include 2-megapixel rear camera, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and A-GPS. Samsung Galaxy S III may also get Smart Scroll, other Galaxy S IV features

A fter reports of Samsung Galaxy S IV receiving smart features such as Smart Scroll, Eye Scroll and Eye Pause, Samsung focused blog, SamMobile published alleged screenshots of these features yesterday. Turns out the screenshots were not from the Galaxy S IV user interface but from the leaked firmware for the Galaxy S III which will update the phone to Android 4.2.1. The site has also acknowledged that the Galaxy S IV will also sport these features. This means that the Galaxy S III will also get some features found on the Galaxy S IV. An Android 4.2 test firmware for the Galaxy S III had leaked in February but there was no mention of these features. Sony Xperia J gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update ahead of schedule

Sony has started rolling out Jelly Bean update for its Xperia J smartphone. Sony users from around the world, including India, are reporting getting this update. The update will be rolled out over-the-air (OTA) and bears the build number 11.2.A.0.21. Zync launches three new tablets price between Rs.5990 & Rs.13990

To keep up with the increasing competition in the tablet market, Zync has launched threenew tablets. The new tablets, the Zync Dual 7.0, the Zync Quad 8.0 and the Zync Quad 9.7 are all sub 14K range tablets, thus scoring on the price tag. Interestingly all the three tabs are named after the number of cores in the processor anddisplay size. Hence the Dual 7.0 has a dual core processor with a 7 inch display while the Zync Quad 8.0 and Zync Quad 9.7 have a quad core processor with 8 inch and 9.7 inch displays respectively. All the three Zync tabs are powered by Android Jelly Bean OS (v 4.1). Sadly none of the tablets have SIM card capabilities and are exclusively running on Wi-Fi. Also the Bluetooth module is missing in all three tablets. Despite the reasonable amount of internal storage, the tablets are still provided with card slots for expanding the memory. Lava recently launched the IRIS 454 and IRIS 502 Android smartphones last month. Now thecompany's website has listed the Iris 430 as the latest addition to this series. There is no official word from the company on this device but considering its already surfaced, we'd assume the details should be out soon. Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 8.0 at the Mobile World Congress last week and soon after the company launched the tablet in India, though pricing and availability details continue to remain unknown. In line with what we reported last month, it's now confirmed that Sony will be making a major announcement related to its flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z, on 6 March 2013. The company has updated its Facebook cover picture teasing the Xperia Z with the 06/03/13 date in bold and an 'Everything is about to change' tagline. A Sony spokesperson also confirmed that the phone is indeed launching on 6 March. At the time of writing this post, the page also posted another picture that with a hazy side profile image of the phone along with a '2 Days to go' teaser text.
